Getting Started
This system is designed to convert strategic intent into coordinated execution.
What the System Does
At a high level, it supports three connected stages:
- Create structure: define axioms, generate vision, then derive strategy.
- Create a portfolio: represent strategy as themes and initiatives.
- Spur operations: convert portfolio direction into trackable, executable work.
Stage 1: Create Structure
Use the Structure workspace to define:
- Axioms: non-negotiable constraints and operating principles.
- Vision: the target state implied by those axioms.
- Strategy: execution direction and sequencing choices aligned to axioms and vision.
This stage reduces ambiguity before execution begins.
Stage 2: Create Portfolio
Use the Portfolio area to create:
- Themes: strategic containers that define outcome areas.
- Initiatives: scoped efforts linked to themes.
This turns strategy into a navigable portfolio model.
Stage 3: Spur Operations
Use Operations to drive action:
- execute tasks and monitor activity,
- manage dependencies and critical paths,
- track workflow state and progress.
Operations is where portfolio intent becomes day-to-day execution.
Recommended Operating Loop
- Revisit structure when priorities drift.
- Adjust portfolio to preserve alignment.
- Re-prioritize operational work based on dependency and impact.
- Repeat continuously.
The system is built for this loop rather than a one-time planning cycle.
